Product of the Month - Fork tip laser improves bottom line

AS ANYONE who has ever driven a forklift will know, a momentary lapse of concentration can lead to expensive damage being done to goods in storage or goods being loaded on or off trucks.

Now there is an answer in the Lazer Tracker – a patented fork tip laser guidance system that helps give forklift operators pinpoint accuracy of fork placement.

Powered by a rechargeable battery, the Lazer Tracker is mounted on the forklift carriage between the forks, and casts out a horizontal beam that is aligned to the tips of each fork. This allows the operator to see exactly where the forks are at all times.

As the forks approach the goods, the horizontal beam shortens, allowing the operator to know they’re close to the target. He or she can then adjust the forks accordingly, lessening the incidence of damage.

The Lazer Tracker meets OSHA guidelines and automatically turns on at the user prescribed height and is visible at heights above 400 inches. Being a Class II laser means that it is incapable of injuring the eye within the duration of the blink or aversion response (0.25 second).

The Lazer Tracker has been proven to increase productivity – quicker fork alignment means more picks per day. It also eliminates the need to ‘probe’ for pallet entry on high lifts (this significantly reduces the chances of pushing product over on the backside of double racking systems). There’s less operator stress and fatigue too (no more craning necks outside the truck to see).
